Degu (mini-Chin)

Here is something that isn't the same old thing. The degu is a relative of the chinchilla (sometimes called a mini-chin or mini-chinchilla) that is awake during the daytime (unlike hamsters and gerbils). They are quiet, clean, odorless and live a lot longer than gerbils and hamsters. They are about the size of a very large hamster or very small guinea pig and fit very nicely in one hand. They eat chinchilla or guinea pig pellets plus leaf greens.

We have several breeding colonies, but they take 4 months to produce a litter of babies to the age of weaning, so our supply of weaned babies sort of fluctuates. Reserve one if you want one, these mini-chinchillas don't last long.

If you live near Houston Texas we will meet you in Alvin or League City for free.

If you live outside of that, we will crate and ship the little guys anywhere in the US that Continental Airlines flies for about $175. That includes the IATA approved air transport kennel, the airfare and the ground transportation. The good news is that additional degus can be shipped in the same crate for no extra charge. So if you want us to ship to you, you might as well buy 6 and sell the rest to friends and family. Shipping overseas would be an extra $100 and that includes the required health certificates and governement clearances. Email if you have any questions.
